About
Methodology
Unsealed is a neutral tracker of official government records releases. We report what was released, by whom, and when, and link straight to the official source.
What we track
- National Archives: JFK, RFK and MLK assassination records released under Executive Order 14176.
- Department of War: PURSUE UAP tranches at war.gov/UFO.
- Department of Justice: the Epstein Library and press releases under the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
- FBI Vault: its "Recently Added" feed.
- CIA Reading Room: "What's New" collections.
- Congress & White House: laws, executive orders and directives that create release obligations.
Rules we follow
- Official sources only. Every entry links to a .gov or .mil page. If a date isn't published, we leave it blank instead of guessing.
- Summaries, not claims. We describe what a release contains. We don't interpret documents or promote theories about them.
- We never rehost records. This matters most for the Epstein Library, which DOJ warns may contain victims' personal information. We link to DOJ only. To report exposed victim information, email DOJ at [email protected].
- Promised vs. Delivered statuses reflect what agencies have published, quoted from their own pages.
- Corrections are made as soon as we're told, and noted on the entry.
How updates work
Scripts check each source for new items, such as the FBI Vault RSS feed, NARA release tables, war.gov/UFO tranches and DOJ library updates. Every new item is reviewed by a person before it's published.
Disclosures
Unsealed is reader- and sponsor-supported. Some links, such as books and audiobooks on these topics, are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission. Sponsors never affect what we cover or how we describe it.
